Did Foster get it right?

Referee Scott Foster served up a technical foul for Knicks forward Al Harrington in last nights game against the Clippers.  According to Foster, Harrington slapped the backboard as he hung from the rim after a dunk with 27.5 seconds left in regulation.

Harrington saw things differntly: “…I spun baseline and my momentum took me that way, all you got to do is look at the tape,” a ticked-off Harrington said. “It was crazy. He also said I slapped the backboard. I didn’t slap the backboard. Al Thornton walked underneath, and I tried to get off as quick as I could.”

Did Harrington hang on the rim?  Yes.  But as he said that can be attributed to Al Thornton walking underneath him.

Did Harrington slap the rim?  Sure looks like it to me.  Check out this video (it’s the best I could find on YouTube – sorry for the crappy music).  Right before Harrington drops off the rim, he appears to slap the backboard with his left hand.  Is it as blatant as the last time they played the Clips (same video, 2 minute mark)?  No, but he did slap the backboard.

Looks like Scott Foster may have gotten this one correct.
