Steve Javie tries to end Lakers play-off run

In last night’s Lakers-Jazz game, Steve Javie tried to make his presence felt.

No, it wasn’t in the same way that he normally does – horrendous, painfully lopsided officiating.  He tried to injure Kobe Bryant on a fast break.  Javie was quoted before the game saying, “If I get the chance, I’m going to put an end to the Lakers play-off run tonight.  Maybe I’ll take out Kobe.  If Derek Richardson can take shots at LeBron, surely I can take a swipe at Kobe.”

Well, Javie had his opportunity.  Late in the 3rd quarter, the Lakers start out on a fast break, lead by Kobe.  Javie, in an attempt to make good on his promise, trips Kobe, trying to injure him.  Fortunately for Bryant, he has amazing balance and was able to finish the fast break.
