For those of you wondering where veteran referee Bob Delaney is during these play-offs, he’s sidelined with an injury. Delaney injured his Achilles late in the regular season and will be sidelined for 3 months. The 57 year-old Delaney has been instructed by doctors to avoid running for 10 to 12 weeks as he recovers from “severe tendinopathy and paratendinosis” in his right heel.
Delaney had officiated 133 play-off games and 9 Finals games prior to this season. Prior to becoming an NBA referee, Delaney was an undercover cop.
