Violet Palmer gave me hope today and then dashed it away only moments later.
I was perusing through one of my favorite online sports sites when I read this nugget:
“Violet Palmer will become coordinator of women’s basketball officials for the West Coast Conference”
In the moment I read that, I cannot begin to describe to you the immense feelings of joy and relief that through attrition, we were losing one of the worst referees in league history. I was on the verge of joyous tears when I finished the sentence.
“and continue to officiate in the NBA, where she has worked for 12 seasons”
For one brief moment I thought we were rid of her. But she will add”ruin WCC games” to her to do list.
Damn you Violet Palmer. Damn you.
