Well, a preliminary list of HOF nominees for the 2010 class has been published. Among the greats such as Scottie Pippen and Karl Malone are current referee Dick Bavetta and former referee Darrell Garretson (father of current referee Ron Garretson).
Pippen and Malone are virtual locks. However, it is unclear what Bavetta and Garretson have done to deserve induction. Perhaps they will be inducted for the sole purpose of hanging around Springfield and calling bogus fouls on former stars and their families when they come to visit.
