Wallace hit with a big fine

Rasheed Wallace was hit with a $30,000 fine yesterday for comments he made after Friday’s game between the Celtics and the Raptors.  Wallace complained about a technical that was called on Paul Pierce after he dunked on Chris Bosh.

“Paul didn’t say nothing. He just looked at him,” Wallace said at the time. “You let the Golden Child do that, or one of the NBA without border kids do that, it’s all fine and dandy.”

The “Golden Child” was a reference to LeBron James and the “NBA without border kids” was a reference to the European players in the league.  The NBA hates it when one of their own professes the truth regarding the piss poor officiating.

During the game, Wallace added to his ever growing resume of technical fouls.  Bennett Salvatore called Sheed for his league leading 6th technical foul at the end of the first quarter.  Wallace made a shot in which he thought he was fouled.  After the basket, he yelled “And one!”.  Salvatore immediately hit him with a technical.

Wallace seemed to think that he and Salvatore would be able to work things out, saying after the game, “For saying, ‘And one?’ Come on. They’re making themselves look foolish with this (stuff),” Wallace said. “It’s crazy, man. But I will say I got to call a spade a spade. He (Salvatore) said he will talk to the league and get that one rescinded. We’ll see.”
