Joey Crawford
Joseph “Joey” Crawford was born August 30, 1951, and is currently a referee in the NBA. He has been officiating games since 1977 and has officiaited more play-off games (266+) and NBA Finals Games (38+) than any other active referee. Joey has given the home team’s star a free pass in at least one Finals game every year from 1986 to 2006.

Joey has also been known to commit fouls.

Definately!! I get a sinking feeling and know I have to beat six men on the floor. If that guy doesn’t work for sports bookies just like donaghy said i would be surprised.
This guy is a joke – looks like a cartoon character acts likes he’s a Mafia enforcer. Joey should be fired and sent back live over a rock! Oh wait, is this the NBA or WWE? Tough to tell…

He made several wrong calls against the Celtics ( Perkins, Pierce, & Wallace) He has a lot to learn. I hope someone beats the crap out of him someday!

stupid joey crawford and crew got all the calls just the way david stern wanted. Great another fake lakers title just like all the others. Why can’t we just watch a basketball game instead of a popularity contest. Nobody except david stern cares who sold the most jerseys this year, and what do you know kobe or jordan wins again.

So now it’s Game 2 of the Boston-Miami series. David Stern, having gotten the result he wanted from the refs in Game 1, has seen to it that madman Joey Crawford (who owes his reinstatement to Stern and promised to toe the Stern line in return) heading up the referees for Game 2. With 7 minutes left in the 4th quarter and the score tied 80/80 Crawford et al sends the Heat to the line 5 consecutive times on five shooting fouls called on the Celtics – all within 4 minutes. Fouls called on the Heat, shooting or otherwise, during this same 4 minute period-NONE-notwithstanding the Celtics have taken 6 contested shots, 4 of which came from inside the paint or under the basket. With 2:48 left, Miami has a comfortable 14 point lead lead, 10 points of which came from the line. Joey completes his BS by T-ing up Doc Rivers. BUT the refs arn’t finished -they have to even out the calls. SO, with 2 minutes left they whistle three quick fouls on the Heat (4 more on the Celtics).
This guy just makes me sick. I wish the NBA would clean itself up but as long as everybody is watching they have no incentive to do so. Tim Donaghy is my hero. His book was awesome and truly revealing. Joey Crawford should be in jail.
